Chiromancy

Chiromancy is a branch of palmistry in which the lines of the hand and the mounts are studied and interpreted. Chiromancy has been practiced for thousands of years in many different cultures and is one of the oldest forms of divination or fortune telling. Both Indian Palmistry and Chinese Palmistry have very long traditions of Palm Reading. The art of hand analysis spread to other countries and cultures such as Persia, Tibet, Egypt and Greece. By studying and interpreting the different lines of the palm such as the Life Line, Heart Line, Head Line, Health Line and Destiny Line a Palmist can conduct with some degree of accuracy a hand analysis Palm Reading to foretell the future. The art of Chiromancy also encompasses the mounts of the hand. The different mounts of the hand are given names ascribed to the planets and thus we have the Mount of Venus, Mount of Mercury, Mount of Mars, Mount of Saturn, Mount of Apollo and Mount of the Moon. The mounts are studied and interpreted by palmists and indicate character, personality, strengths and weaknesses. The actual word of Chiromancy derives from the Greek for hand and divination. Heart Line

Heart Line

In the study of Chiromancy the Heart Line can be found running horizontally across the upper part of the palm. The Heart Line indicates how loving, thoughtful, caring, considerate and warm hearted an individual is. A broken Heart Line can foretell challenges in love relationships. A very short Heart Line indicates a self centred, mean spirited person, whereas a very long Heart Line can show an altruistic and philanthropic character. Head Line

Head Line

The Head Line can be found running diagonally downwards from in between the thumb and index finger. The Head Line is an indicator of the intellect and mental capabilities. It also shows temperament and as such personality traits. In the art of Chiromancy a weak, broken, feint or short Head Line can indicate poor memory, confusion or mental imbalances. A strong, long, unbroken, deep Head Line can show exceptional talents, ambition, drive and imagination. Life Line

Life Line

The Life Line is generally curved and begins between the thumb and index finger and runs downwards toward the wrist. In the study of Chiromancy a strong, long, deep and unbroken Life Line indicates vibrant health and a long and happy life. A feint, weak or broken Life Line can show ill health, disease and a difficult, challenging life. Destiny Line

Destiny Line

The Destiny Line is also known as the Fate Line and runs vertically down the centre of the palm. As its name suggests the Destiny Line is a predictor and indicator of the overall pattern of someone's life. In the art of Chiromancy the Destiny Line shows success, failure, accomplishments, pitfalls, wealth, poverty, highs and lows. Dependent on the length, strength and depth of the Destiny Line it can show the fate or destiny of an individual. Overall the deeper, stronger and longer the Destiny Line then the better luck, prosperity and fortune. A weak, short, broken or feint Destiny Line indicates a troubled, difficult and conflicted life ahead. Health Line

Health Line

The Health Line normally runs vertically from below the ring finger. Many people do not have a Health Line which simply means that health should never be a real issue. The Health Line can be a good indicator of the likely health issues someone has to face. This can relate to both physical health and mental health. The depth or fineness of the Health Line indicates the extent of illness, disease or sickness. Basically the stronger, straighter, more pronounced and longer the Health Line the better the health. The Mounts

Mounts of the Hand

In the study of Chiromancy the fleshy and pronounced parts of the palm are known as mounts The mounts of the hand are very important when conducting hand analysis. They show the character, strengths and weaknesses and likely outcomes of an individual. The mounts of the hand are named after the planets and indicate the qualities and characteristics of those planets. There are seven mounts on the palm. The Mount of Jupiter

Mount of Jupiter

The Mount of Jupiter can be found at the base of the index finger. A prominent and pronounced Mount of Jupiter indicates strong leadership skills. Ambition, determination and drive are all indicated in a well developed Mount of Jupiter. Politicians, group leaders, managers and successful entrepreneurs tend to have a pronounced Mount of Jupiter. The Mount of Saturn

Mount of Saturn

The Mount of Saturn is located at the base of the middle finger. An under developed or flat Mount of Saturn can show a tendency towards depression, sadness and melancholy. A prominent Mount of Saturn indicates mental strength, a desire for knowledge and an enquiring mind. People with a very pronounced Mount of Saturn tend to be very spiritual and independent thinkers. The Mount of Apollo

Mount of Apollo

The Mount of Apollo can be found at the base of the ring finger. This mount is an indicator of warmth, enthusiasm, optimism, positivity and vibrancy. The more well developed the Mount of Apollo is the more cheerful, generous, warm hearted and passionate a person is. The Mount of Mercury

Mount of Mercury

The Mount of Mercury can be found at the base of the little finger. This is the mount that indicates mental prowess. Very intelligent, articulate and imaginative people tend to have a prominent Mount of Mercury. A well developed Mount of Mercury can also predict great success and material wealth. The Mount of the Moon

Mount of The Moon

The Mount of the Moon is located at the base of the palm, opposite the thumb. The Mount of the Moon is an indicator of psychic abilities, intuition, imagination and idealism. People with a well developed Mount of the Moon tend to be highly sensitive and intuitive and make their decisions on what their heart tells them. The Mount of Venus

Mount of Venus

The Mount of Venus is found under the thumb. The Mount of Venus indicates the strength of passion, lust for life and sociability of a person. People with a fleshy Mount of Venus tend to be highly admired, very popular and extremely loving. They also seem to attract the finer things in life and can lead a very luxurious life. The Mount of Mars

Mount of Mars

The Mount of Mars has two locations. The positive Mount of Mars can be found under the upper part of the Life Line and the negative Mount of Mars is located between the Heart Line and Head Line. The positive Mount of Mars relates to the physical characteristics and the negative Mount of Mars to the mental qualities.

The Mount of Mars is an indicator of strength, courage and vitality –either physical or mental. A person who has a well developed Mount of Mars usually displays great resilience in the face of adversity. They are strong, brave and determined. They are also very assertive and not afraid to speak their mind.
