The Aventurine gets its name from the Italian phrase ‘per aventura’ meaning ‘by chance.’ And it is its associations with luck and chance that it is most famed.
Sometimes named the ‘Stone of Heaven’, the green variety of this gem stone is an all purpose healer (mental, emotional and physical).
Green Aventurine is linked to Heart Chakra and as such is of great benefit to the heart itself. It is said to help with regeneration, especially after heart surgery or heart attacks.
Because of its connections with the Heart Chakra this gem stone is also beneficial for healing suffering caused by heartbreak, heartache via love affairs, separation and divorce.

Ancient Tibetans in their sacred statues, to represent the ‘eyes’, used Aventurine. This was to symbolize increased divinatory powers. Wearing the green gem was also used to improve nearsightedness and to increase the wearer's creativity.
This green stone has been used as a lucky talisman and is a popular stone for gamblers. It has various names given to it such as the ‘gamblers stone’, 'Indian Jade, or the 'stone of heaven.'
Aventurine is a form of Quartz that is coloured in various hues of green. It can also be orange, blue, grey, yellow or brown. It has a hardness of 7.
It is mainly mined in China, India, Chile, Spain and Russia.
