November – the Snow Moon is also known as the Dark Moon in Celtic traditions or Beaver Moon in Thomas's Old Farmer’s Almanac. This is a great time to seek knowledge – particularly of a spiritual nature.
Getting to know yourself, your motivations, your talents and skills and your place in the world should be at the forefront of your mind at this time. Gaining strength is very empowering and this should be a priority at this time

Magic of the Snow Moon
During the Snow Moon period it is beneficial to think about conducting Magic that is linked with increasing strength and prosperity. Cast the following Spell on the evening of the full moon during the Snow phase and prepare to be prosperous!
This Prosperity Spell will help to draw to you prosperity and wealth.
Prepare Your Tools and Ingredients
Your Altar will be your stage for your Spell Casting this Full Moon.
An Altar can be anything where you are able to place your tools and ingredients safely such as a table, shelf or desk, etc.
For this Prosperity, place the following on your Altar:
- Dried Sage in a flameproof dish
- An Altar candle
- A small container to hold salt
- A small dish or bowl to hold water
- A tall green candle with holder
- A copper coin
- More dried Sage
You can also add green crystals such as Aventurine and the Tarot card of the Magician, the Wheel of Fortune and the Sun to your Altar.
Before you commence Spell Casting
- Ignite the dried Sage so it emits smoke
- Light your altar candle
- Add a little water to your vessel
Create Your Sacred Space and Circle
Stand, kneel or sit before your Altar and relax.
Close your eyes and concentrate and visualise a sphere of golden light forming around you and expanding outwards in every direction to form your Sacred space.
Call Upon the Elements
Concentrate your mind on each of the 5 elements in turn.
- Breath deeply and feel the Air fill your lungs
- Contemplate the salt on your Altar representing Earth
- Contemplate the Water in the vessel on your Altar
- Rest your eyes on the Fire from the candle before you.
- Feel the presence of Spirit all around you
Raise Energy
Raising your energy is bringing forth all your energy inside you and preparing to release it at the end of the Spell to go out into the world and create the changes you desire.
Imagine the energy in the form of a white light flowing throughout your body forming a ball of light deep in your chest.
Tense every muscle in your body until you feel ‘fully charged’. Relax and take a few deep breaths before proceeding.
Recite Your Spell
Blow out the candle on your Altar and remain still for a few minutes.
When the candle is cool, inscribe your name onto it with the edge of the coin. You don't need to make deep impressions on the candle . Set the candle in a holder at the centre of your altar and light it.
Scatter the dried sage around the lighted candle.
Say 3 times aloud:
‘Grant to me my wish I make
With harm to none for my sake
Prosperity and wealth bring henceforth to me
With blessings that I will surely see
So mote it be’
Release Energy
After your Spell is complete you will need to release and send out the energy that you raised. This energy is released into the world to create the change you desire. To do this you will need to stand before your altar and imagine the ball of light in your chest once more. Again tense all your muscles and begin to "push" the energy upward.
Next, stand comfortably with your feet apart and thrust your arms upwards and outwards to form a star shape with your body. Exhale and imagine sending this energy out into the air.
When this is complete, stand with feet together and touch each shoulder with opposite arms to form a cross against your chest.
Ground Yourself
To ground yourself, relax, take some deep breaths and imagine and visualise the golden sphere around you becoming smaller until it disappears.
