Coping with Stress

I hope that you, your family and friends remain healthy and safe at this challenging time.
We are in the midst of an unprecedented situation the like of which most of us have never experienced. It's a very stressful time worrying about our health and the health of our loved ones and those who are elderly or otherwise vulnerable.

It's important for me to reduce stress and I want to offer some suggestions on how you can too.

Here are some other suggestions:

• Try to spend some time in nature. Being amongst green trees, green grass and spring flowers is known to have a therapeutic calming effect to reduce stress. Choose places that are not crowded. Be prepared to travel if you can, it's worth it.


• Take a break from the news. In this day and age it's on 24 hours every day, going on and on about all the bad news they can. Bad news is the "best" news for the networks, they concentrate on all the bad news because that's what gets the viewers. Take a break from it to improve your mental health and reduce stress.


• Watch something funny on the TV instead, either a film or a series.


• Perform an act of kindness, this helps release positive hormones that flood the body.


• Wear something green. Green is a wonderful calming, fertile and nurturing colour. Its common in nature and so makes it a very familiar and thus comfortable and welcoming. It is also very much connected with good luck and fortune and is very attracting of positive energy.

Journal

Your Special personal Coven Journal is an important focus for all your Witches learning and development.

Periodically I will highlight certain things that are important to include in your Journal. This is an opportunity to direct serious Coven students to areas of research and to focus them onto important, relevant and useful subjects.

All Coven members need to be aware of the Moon Phases. The Moon, and its Energies are important elements in the work of all witches, especially in connection with Spell Casting cycles, Enchantment of Objects and Rituals.

I urge all serious students to spend a little time researching the Moon Phases for 2020, and enter the relevant information in their Journal, such as the date of each Moon Phase: New, Waxing, Full and Waning Moon phases

Spring Equinox

Today marks the Spring Equinox, or the first day of Spring in the northern hemisphere.

It's the time of new beginnings, new life, the emergence of flowers and leaves dormant since the end of autumn.

It is a time of year to make a commitment or recommitment to your spiritual growth. It is a time to look ahead in hope and joy for what is to come. It is a time of divination, looking into the coming year. It is a time for cleaning and purification.

Now, more than ever, it is a time walk outdoors, to honour the gifts of nature. Go to a forest, lakeside, the ocean, the mountains or hillside, or a quiet garden or public park. Breathe deeply as you take in all the sights, sounds, smells and feelings of nature as they surround you.
