Root Chakra or First Chakra
This first Chakra ensures the flow of our life-force energy into the body. When the Root Chakra is working to its full potential it links the individual with the physical world and the ability to ground ourselves. It makes us feel motivated, confident and competent and ready to face challenges. It provides aid to kidneys, adrenals, spinal column and colon. A balanced Root Chakra allows a person to fully use their life energy, physical strength and vitality. Blocked Chakras can cause a variety of dysfunctions and physical and mental illnesses. If your first Chakra is blocked or not energised and balanced you can experience feelings of fear, anxiety, insecurity, frustration, low self-esteem, poor confidence or strained relationships with family. Physical ailments associated with a blocked Root Chakra are normally related to the hips, legs, lower back and sexual organs. Ailments like lower back pain, sciatica, varicose veins, depression and immune related disorders are associated with a blocked first Chakra. Problems also associated with this first Chakra if it is blocked are eating disorders, food addicion, compulsive eating, obesity and anorexia nervosa.
